At Elk River Chiropractic we offer three different adjusting techniques and many different therapies. Our primary method of adjusting is manual, or with our hands. If it is necessary we are also able to adjust with an activator or a drop table. Some of the main therapies we offer are Graston, percussion massager, acupuncture, cupping, myofascial release, electric stem, and ultrasound. We also provide both hot and cold packs and supports at the clinic. Adjustments and therapies used are specific to each patients needs.
Manual adjusting is our primary method of treatment. It is the use of our hands to facilitate the realignment of the misaligned bone. It allows the practitioner to physically assess and address each individual muscle and bone and tailer the treatment spicific to each segnemt. If a manual adjustment is not an option or is not the best option then an adjusting tool called an activator or a drop table can be used.
We offer multiple different types of taping for patients. We provide athletic taping, supportive taping, and rehabilitative taping. Kiniseology tape and Dynamic tape are two of our primary tapes used with patients.
Acupuncture can be used for many different things. We provide acupuncture for the improvement of the mind, body and spirit. Some of the main uses are to release and minimize low back pain, headaches, increase blood and energy flow, treat inbalances in the different pathways of the body, and release muscle tension and myofascial adhesions.
Graston is a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. This is the use of different tools to break down scar tissue and adhesions in soft tissue, improve circulation, and improve range of motion and function.
Cupping is a therapy that help to improve circulation, break up scar tissue and adhesions, improves range of motion and flexability, and promotes blood flow in soft tissue.
Manual muscle release is the manual stripping and breaking down of scar tissue, adhesions, and other soft tissue lesions to facilitate better range of motion, functionality, and less pain. It implements the manual traction over muscles, adhesion, scar tissue, or trigger points.
We offer the required pre-participation physicals that are often required for students to participate in sports at school or in some cases different athletic organizations.
Ultrasound is used to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, stimulate healing on a deeper cellular level, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
Percussion massage helps to reduce and relax hypertonic muscles, break up scar tissue and adhesions, improve circulation, blood flow, and lymphatic flow. Percussion massage also helps to improve muscle recovery after working out, or streneous work.
We are excited to announce that we are completing the national education and certification necessary to provide the national Department of Transortation Physical exams on site at our clinic. We will notify everyone when the certification is complete and we are in a position to provide this service to our community.

Our son Jacob sustained a severe concussion playing youth football and while he was fully released back to normal activity after months of traditional physical and occupational therapy he had lingering symptoms. The care Jacob received from Dr. Albers far exceeded any expectation that we had. Dr. Albers provided Jacob traditional chiropractic care as well as concussion care. Every step of the way, he explained the goals of the exercises and why he felt they would benefit Jacob’s recovery. He also provided exercises for Jacob to do at home to continue progressing to full recovery. After about two months of care we had our son back! Dr. Albers has a way of communicating and genuinely cares about his patients.
I was extremely impressed with Dr. Alberts' services. I'm a big guy, 6' tall and 320 lbs, so I didn't think a Chiropractor could do much for me, but he jumped on me and cracked me like celery. Very impressive! And the best part was that he gave me exercises/stretches to do at home, so I don't have to come back unless I really need to. It was like having a mechanic teaching you to change your engine's oil, so you don't have to come back for that anymore. Very honest and great practice! He even saw me the same day I called for my lower back pain.
Dr. Alberts is an exceptional chiropractor, he is knowledgeable and listens to his clients. He has an answer and a way to correct any ache or pain you may be feeling in your body. He is firm and confident with each adjustment and my family always leaves his office feeling better! Another great thing, he’s great with children and helping them be get through their adjustments to.
